February saw us move East of Winchester to the slopes of Rodfield lane for a stern test of rider’s VO2-Max power.

In the women’s competition, a trio of competitors battled it out for points. Annie Dixey triumphed this month, taking first place and 15 points with a really quick time of 04:19. Close behind, Franie Ng took second place and 12 points with a time of 04:38. Vanda Kyselicova claimed third position and 10 points with a time of 06:23.

In the women’s GC table, Franie and Annie now share joint first place at this early stage of the year, both on 27 points. Vanda Kyselicova is in third position on 20 points.

In the men’s competition, only 7 riders chanced their arm to gather some early-season points, up the slopes of Rodfield lane.

Oscar Hoult claimed his second monthly win in a row, taking the first position and 15 points with the only sub-4-minute time of 03:53. Jim Cascarini consolidated his competitiveness, with another second place and 12 points, with a time of 04:15. Brian Wallace closed off the podium and 10 points with a time of 04:33.

The men’s GC table is now topped by Oscar Hoult, on 30 points, pulling a slight lead on second placed Jim Cascarini who is on 24 points. William Hart and Brian Wallace sit jointly in third place on 10 points each.

Many congratulations to Fannie and Oscar who both win a free hot drink and slice of cake from South Downs Social café who continue to support and sponsor our club’s annual segment of the month competition.
