Velo Club Venta has a rich racing pedigree, not least with Honorary Life Member Paul Double currently riding on the mens world tour with the Jayco AlUla race team. 

The VC Venta Road Race team is having a bit of a reset in 2026 with several of our talented younger riders now having moved on to represent other teams both in the UK and abroad. 

Our success as a developmental club was highlighted at the 2026 season opening Portsdown Classic where current second claim members and former club youth and junior racers Alex Murphy and Matt Gilmour claimed the top two places.

We are keen to help develop members who want to race providing training groups and more formal coaching opportunity as well as supporting riders financially with kit and race entries if needed. 

Over the last 12 months many riders from the team had wins and podium finishes at local circuit or road races, not least Tommy Stroud who won the inaugural South Series race league.
