The annual inter-club time trial between Velo Club Venta and Sotonia is taking place on Thursday 12th June. Sotonia are organising the event this year which will return once again to the popular P164 10 mile course at Lyndhurst. A relatively low traffic course where the greatest hazard is likely to be a New Forest pony crossing the road.
If you only do one time trial each year, make it this one as local bragging rights for the entire year hinge on this one evening. Sotonia pushed us very close last year so it would be fantastic to have a strong turn-out to help us retain the title.
You can enter on either a road or TT bike and either as a solo rider or two-up (two riders setting off and finishing together). Whether you ride time trials regularly or have never pinned on a number before, come along and enjoy the camaraderie of racing as part of a team while also maintaining the friendly rivalry with our very good friends from Sotonia.
Normal CTT rules apply, you must be twelve years old to ride as the event is on open roads and have a working front and rear light. Helmets are mandatory in CTT road events.
A parental consent form will be required for any rider under 18 years of age. Sign-on will be Parc Pale Car Park just outside of Lyndhurst with the first rider off at 19.00 hrs. Entry is free as the club will cover the entry fee for any riders representing the club.
