Time Trial Race Team

VC Venta promotes a friendly and active time-trial scene, with riders of all levels taking part over the season. The Club’s summer evening 10 mile TTs are a great introduction to competitive cycling, taking place on local, scenic courses during the summer months.

At the more competitive end of the spectrum, we have riders competing around the country. In 2018, our men’s Team Time Trial squad placed 5th at the National Championships in Newcastle.

Time trialling is the perfect way to get into cycle racing, no matter what level of fitness you have. This year’s Club 10 Time Trial series will be held throughout the summer and encourages all ages and abilities to pin on a number and race against the clock over a set ten mile course.

Are you keen to give time trialling a go? Take a look at what's on in Events or get in touch by emailing [email protected].

Summer 2022 Time Trials

With the recommencing of outdoor events VC Venta will be running both Type A (Open) and Type B (Club) events during the year.

Our first open event (club and non club riders) is on Sunday 10th April on the HCC283 Candover course and this will be open to all clubs, with sign up via CTT at the link below.

Club 10 events will comprise of an interclub event with Sotonia on the 19th May 2022 followed by two social events on the 9th June 2022 on the HCC283 Candover course and then on the 6th July 2022 Kingsworthy Course with drinks and food afterwards.

This year we will be encouraging new riders as well as having a 2Up category for each of the events to encourage teamwork (subject to Covid restrictions at the time).

The season will then finish in style with the second open event of the season being a Hill Climb on Sunday 18th September on the P821 HC up Old Winchester Hill.

COVID-19 Risk Assessment

Due to the very nature of time trialling being a socially distanced cycling discipline, it is expected that by following the CTT COVID-19 Risk Assessment the club will be able to run the full series of planned events in a safe and challenging environment on a selection of varied and challenging courses.

As always, without the willing volunteers of Club members, these events simply cannot happen. The Club needs event owners for the 6 Club events on the dates listed. As an event owner you will be responsible of recruiting your willing team of volunteers and organising the event on the day. All of the support and guidance needed will be available, so please do come forward if you can help by emailing [email protected] to express your interest.
